      Our Repair and Renovation Services

Here’s an overview of the repair and renovation work we provide.

      Pool Resurfacing

Pool interior finishes wear out over time. Plaster typically lasts 10-15 years before it becomes rough, stained, or starts deteriorating. We offer several resurfacing options, including traditional plaster, Diamond Brite, pebble finishes, quartz aggregate, and tile. Each has different characteristics in terms of appearance, durability, and cost. We can explain the differences and help you choose what works for your situation.

      Tile and Coping Replacement

Waterline tile and coping around the pool edge can crack, fall off, or simply look outdated after years of exposure to sun, water, and chemicals. Replacing tile and coping updates the appearance of your pool and addresses any damaged areas. We remove the old materials and install new tile and coping in the style and color you select.

      Equipment Repair and Replacement

Pool equipment, including pumps, filters, heaters, salt systems, and automation controls, eventually needs repair or replacement. We diagnose equipment problems and either repair them or recommend replacement when that makes more sense. Modern equipment is often more energy-efficient than older models, so upgrading can reduce operating costs.

      Leak Detection and Repair

If your pool is losing water faster than normal evaporation would explain, there may be a leak in the plumbing, shell, or fittings. We use detection equipment to locate leaks without unnecessary excavation. Once found, we repair the leak properly to prevent ongoing water loss and potential damage.

      Deck Repair and Replacement

Pool decks can crack, sink, or become stained over time. We repair damaged sections or replace entire decks, depending on the extent of the issues. If the deck structure is sound but the surface looks worn, resurfacing or refinishing may be an option.

      Plumbing Repairs

Underground pool plumbing can develop problems, especially in older pools or areas with shifting soil. We repair and replace plumbing lines, fix valve issues, and address circulation problems that affect water quality or equipment performance.

      Feature Additions

Renovation projects are a good opportunity to add features your pool didn’t originally have. Options include LED lighting, waterfalls, bubblers, tanning ledges, spa additions, fire bowls, and automation systems. Adding features during other renovation work is often more cost-effective than doing separate projects later.

      Our Process

Here’s how we approach repair and renovation projects.

      Step 1: Assessment

We visit your pool to evaluate its condition. We inspect the surface, equipment, tile, coping, deck, and plumbing. We ask about the pool’s history, previous repairs, and any problems you’ve noticed. This assessment helps us understand what work is needed.

      Step 2: Diagnosis and Recommendations

We explain what we found during the assessment. We identify what needs immediate attention, what can wait, and what options are available. We distinguish between cosmetic issues and structural concerns, and between repairs and replacements. We provide honest recommendations based on your pool’s condition and your goals.

      Step 3: Proposal and Pricing

We provide a detailed proposal with clear pricing for the recommended work. If there are multiple approaches, we explain the trade-offs so you can make an informed decision. We can also discuss phasing work over time if that fits your budget better.

      Step 4: Scheduling

We schedule the work at a time that works for you. Smaller repairs may take a day or two. Resurfacing typically takes about a week. Full renovations can take 3-6 weeks, depending on the scope. We provide a realistic timeline upfront.

      Step 5: Work

Our crews complete the work as specified. If we discover unexpected issues during the project, we will discuss them with you before proceeding with any additional work.

      Step 6: Startup and Walkthrough

For resurfacing and major renovations, we handle pool startup, including filling, water chemistry balancing, and equipment testing. We walk you through any new equipment or finishes and explain maintenance requirements.

Why Homeowners Trust Fluidity for Pool Repairs

      We Fix Pools Every Day

This is what we do. Not a sideline, not something we dabble in between new construction projects. Pool repair and renovation is a core part of our business, which means we’ve seen every problem, know every solution, and can diagnose issues quickly and accurately.

We Tell You What You Actually Need

Some contractors see a pool problem and immediately quote a full renovation. Others slap a band-aid on something that really needs proper repair. We assess honestly and recommend what makes sense for your situation, your pool’s condition, and your budget. Sometimes that’s a $500 repair. Sometimes it’s a $50,000 renovation. We’ll tell you which is which and why.

We Do It Right the First Time

Cutting corners on pool repairs just means doing the job twice. We use quality materials, proper techniques, and experienced crews because we don’t want to come back next year to fix what we should’ve fixed correctly the first time. Our reputation depends on work that lasts.

      We Warranty Our Work

Repairs and renovations are backed by warranties that we put in writing. If something we fixed fails, we make it right. We’ve been doing this for 15+ years and plan to be here for 15+ more. We’re not disappearing after the check clears.

      We Communicate Like Adults

You’ll know what’s happening with your pool. When we’ll be there, what we’re doing, how long it’ll take. If something changes, you’ll hear about it immediately. No chasing us down for updates. No wondering if we forgot about you.

      Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my pool needs resurfacing?

Signs include rough texture that’s uncomfortable on skin, staining that doesn’t come out with cleaning, plaster flaking or coming off, and persistent algae in porous areas. Pools over 10-12 years old often need resurfacing. We can assess your pool and let you know.

      How long does resurfacing take?

Typically 5-7 days from draining to swimming. The new surface needs to cure properly, and the pool needs to be filled and chemically balanced. The weather can affect the schedule.

Can I renovate my pool in phases?

Yes. Many homeowners spread work over time based on budget. We can help you prioritize what needs to happen now versus what can wait, and plan accordingly.

How much does pool resurfacing cost?

Basic plaster resurfacing typically runs $5,000-$8,000 for an average-sized pool. Upgraded finishes like Diamond Brite, quartz, or pebble run $8,000-$15,000 or more. Full renovations with tile, coping, equipment, and deck work vary based on scope. We provide detailed quotes after assessing your pool.

Is it worth upgrading old equipment?

Often yes. Equipment from 10-15 years ago is less efficient than current models. Variable-speed pumps can significantly reduce energy costs. Better filtration and automation make pools easier to maintain. We can discuss whether upgrades make sense for your situation.

      How do you find leaks?

We use specialized equipment, including electronic listening devices, pressure testing, and dye testing, to locate leaks in plumbing, the shell, and fittings. This approach is more accurate and less disruptive than exploratory digging.

How long will a renovated pool last?

It depends on what work is done. New plaster surfaces typically last 10-15 years. Pebble and quartz finishes can last 15-20 years or more. Tile lasts even longer. Equipment typically runs 8-15 years, depending on the component. A comprehensive renovation can provide 15-20 good years before major work is needed again.

When is the best time to renovate?

Fall and winter work well in most climates since demand is lower and you’re not missing swimming season. However, we do renovations year-round.
